Description
A finely made Zapotec double-handled dish from Oaxaca, Mexico, ca. 100 – 500 AD. This uncommon chocolate-ware example is 6-1/4 in in diameter, with broad loop handles extending from the inward curving rim. The interior slip is highly burnished and slip deterioration on the underside evidencing usage over fire. A rarely seen elegant form. Ex Schultz collection.
