Depicts McClennan at center as the peacemaker while President Lincoln and Jefferson Davis tear a map of the United States apart. Lincoln insists on abolition, while Davis insists on separation or independence. [Image 9-1/2 x 14-1/2"; Sheet: 13" x 17-1/4"]. Bears rubber stamp at bottom right "Copyright / May 5 1865 / Library", above an oval embossed blind stamp "Deposited in Southern District, New York / U.S. District / Clerk's Office" with inscription " 21 / Oct.6, 1864."
