Description
A pair of Egyptian steatite scarabs. The first Late Period type, c. 664 - 332 BC, with remnants of green glaze and Horus standing with protection of Amen-Re behind, 17 x 12mm, the second is a 2nd Intermediate type from the Levante region, c. 18th - 17th Century BC, with nice hunting scene on the base, 18 x 13mm. Both holed lengthwise for suspension. Ex Hamdy Sakr collection; previously in the private collection of Alex Anckonie III, acquired during his time in the Navy in the 1960's - 1970's.
