Description
Pre-Columbian, Inca, Peru, ca. 1450 CE. This is a handsome molded pottery example of the all-important animal of the Andes -- the llama! This is a naturalistic depiction with a strong snout, flared nostrils, protruding ears, and modeled eyes. It has a conical spout with attachment holes under the rim and a spout in the mouth. This would have been a ritual vessel. Size: 7.25" L x 6.25" W x 7.5" H (18.4 cm x 15.9 cm x 19 cm).
