Description
ENGLISH MOLDED STONEWARE ARTICLES, LOT OF FIVE, comprising three pitchers, one with a metal, hinged lid, and two teapots, one with a metal, hinged lid and one with a ceramic cover. Pitcher with cover is impressed with ALLEY, COBRIDGE, 10th May, 1845 and pattern "Ranger", large blue pitcher impressed RIDGWAY, HANLEY, October 1, 1835 19th/20th century. 6" to 9 3/8" H.
Good condition overall. Pitcher with cover is undamaged, large blue pitcher has a large chip at rim and hairline crack where cover was formerly attached, and chip at the underside of handle near base, white pitcher has hairline in base, both teapots have damaged spouts and hairline cracks, teapot with ceramic cover has a long hairline crack following mold seam, and manufacturing cracks at handle junctures and terminals as well as in some places where sprig molds were adhered.
