Description
The lot features a trade knife and knife sheath from the Lakota Sioux Native American Indians. The sheath features 19th Century glass trade seed beads in Cheyenne pink, sky padre blue, greasy yellow, Hudson Bay red white hearts, and semi-translucent green. The sheath is constructed of Indian tanned hide with a rope beaded drop fringe. The trade knife features an early 19th Century construction with Elk Horn grips and forged iron blade. Knife is 10"L with a 5 7/8"L blade. Sheath is 15.25"L with top strap and fringe and 2.25"W. Provenance: This is from a large Native American & Early American artifact private collection in Iowa.
