Item Details
Description
Roman, 4th century CE. This is a nice example of what is considered the most common jug form of the 4th century. It has an ovoid body extending to a tall tubular neck with a splayed lip and thickened rim. The piece is made from fine yellow/clear glass and the attachment of the thin strap handle is clear. The foot and a neck ring give the piece some simple decoration. When first made, this piece would have had a small finial attached to the top of the strap. Size: 2.8" W x 5.75" H (7.1 cm x 14.6 cm)
