Southeast Asia, Borneo, Sabah Dayak, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A hand carved Sabah Dayak charm figure sitting with raised knees and hands held up to the chest with nicely delineated fingers pointing skyward just beneath the figure's chin. As is characteristic of the Dayak, the figure's head is enlarged with boldly defined features and topped with a cap. A wonderful example with a gracefully aged surface and nice patina.
