Description
An Egyptian pale green faience ushabti, Late Period, c. 664 - 332 BC, mummiform, wearing tripartite wig with false beard, arms folded at mid-section, hands holding a pick and a hoe, basket over left shoulder, three horizontal registers of crisply molded hieroglyphic text down front of the legs, vertical plinth down back with one character of the inscription extending on to it. H: 4 in (10.2 cm). Nicely detailed with a handsome face and well-defined implements and inscription. Ex-New Jersey estate.
