Description
Peru, Post Spanish Conquest, ca. 16th century CE. Large and lovely wooden kero, used by the Inca and their descendants to drink chicha - a type of fermented corn beer. Carved from dense hardwood with conical shape flaring towards the top, small incised band near rim. Lovely deep old patina.
