Description
Chinese bronze Buddha figure of Cundi Bodhisattva is depicted with eight arms, each wielding implements that symbolize upaya in various mudra gestures. She is revered in Tangmi or East Asian esoteric Buddhism. In China, she is known as Zhunti Pusa or Zhunti Fomu or Cundi Buddha-Mother. The Buddha gazed forward, having the Athe eyes, with urna between the eyebrows beneath elaborate crown. Wearing official defined armor uniform, seated in royal ease position upon a throne pedestal. Underside with incised quatrefoil flori-form petal visvavajra mark surrounding the centralized DaiJi. Trace of gilt.
