This Shusha long rug showing a mina khani design of Persian influence in the dark blue field is a typical workshop product made for the Russian domestic market during the Czarist Empire. The cobalt blue main border is embellished with diagonal blossoms; the yellow-ground secondary borders each contain a vine decorated with slanting buds. – New overcasting along the sides, uniformly low pile. Both lower corners have been replaced; cut horizontally at the upper end and rejoined, thus reduced in length.
