Description
Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Carchi-Narino, Capuli Complex, ca. 850 to 1500 CE. A polychrome decorated pottery bowl on a concave foot, the interior featuring a composition arranged in four quadrants, two depicting a fine-line painted orange standing warrior donning a sash across his chest and holding a staff or spear in his right hand, alternating with two panels that depict five abstract forms that may represent human or animorphic figures or some type of standards or weapons with hooked termini, delineated in chocolate brown. Concentric bands of that same chocolate brown hue demarcate the rim. Size: 7.5" W x 4" H (19 cm x 10.2 cm)
