Description
Peter Hertz (Danish (Copenhagen), active 1893-?), circa 1900; and Georg Jensen (Danish (Copenhagen), founded 1904). A married three piece silver set comprising open sugar bowl, cream pitcher, and sugar tongs, the vessels by Hertz of simple round form with scroll handles, the sterling tongs by Jensen in the Acorn pattern. Vessels marked with maker's mark "P. Hertz", Three Towers mark dated 1900, and assay mark for Simon Groth (active 1863-1904); tongs marked "GEORG JENSEN" within a beaded circle, and STERLING / DENMARK". Sugar approximate height 3", creamer approximate height 3.25", tongs approximate length 3.75". Approximately 10.4 troy ounces. Provenance: Property from the Estate of Mr. Eskild Bondesen of Copenhagen, Denmark.
