Description
A pair of Roman ceramic lamps. Lot includes a 2nd Century type with central discus depicting Athena standing to left sacrificing over an altar a garland around the shoulder adorned with a laurel-wreath; maker’s mark on bottom. L: 5 in (12.8 cm); the second is red-ware type from Egypt, 2nd Century AD, with Harpokrates standing between two erect cobras (uraei), each with a solar headdress, L: 3 in (8.9 cm). Nice examples. Ex Orange County private collection.
