Description
An Egyptian beaded necklace with amulets and a scarab. The beads are of the long faience tubular type, Late Period, c. 664 - 30 BC, the fiance plaque of the god Bes, the large yellowish bead and the amulet in the form of a lion's head from the same period. Also strung on the necklace if a New Kingdom steatite scarab, c. 1570 - 10755 BC, with a seated sphinx amongst papyrus. L: 15 3/5 in (39.6cm). A nice mixed group! Ex Detroit private collection.
