Howard Finster (American (active Georgia),1916-2001), "When Jesus Went Home"-1987, found object (glass jug with cement and acrylic), signed to piece "Howard Finster". Folk art (outsider or untrained art) found object sculpture with scattered figural depictions and inscriptions typical of the artist's oeuvre. Overall approximately 11" x 5" x 5". Approximate diameter of jug 5". Provenance: Acquired from the artist, Howard Finster by the Estate of Liz Howell Bloodworth, Atlanta, Georgia. Note: A former minister and Summervile, Georgia, resident, Finster widely known for his use of found objects and religious themes.
