TWO PAIRS OF ENGLISH BRASS CANDLESTICKS, ONE PAIR SIGNED, "QUEEN OF DIAMONDS," LATE 19TH CENTURY, each with a candle adjustable push lever from underside, comprising a pair of "QUEEN OF DIAMONDS" candlesticks, with stylized spools form stem enclosing a hexagonal knob centering diamond form paneled sides, surmounted by cylindrical nozzles with conforming shallow dish form bobèches, raised on flaring octagonal bases with impressed "QUEEN OF DIAMONDS," height: 11 1/2"; including a pair of Queen Anne style candlesticks, with urn and stepped details form stem surmounted by a short cylindrical nozzle and circular shallow dish form bobèches, raised on conforming stepped bases, height: 9 1/4". NOTE: The "QUEEN OF DIAMONDS" brass candlesticks were made to commemorate Queen Victoria's 1896 Diamond Jubilee, which was the celebration of her 60 years on the English Throne, the longest of any English monarch until recently when surpassed by H.M. Queen Elizabeth II. These candlesticks came in a staggered series of Ace, King, Queen, Prince, and Princess.

The "DIAMONDS," pair are in good shape with expected surface wear and the impressed words are worn from repeated polishing over the years, the adjustable levers are a bit stiff too. The Queen Anne style pair have normal surface wear, as well as cracked bobèches and a few dents on the base. Simpson Galleries strongly encourages in-person inspection of items by the bidder.
