Georges Plasse (French, 1878-1948). "Village au bord du fleuve". Oil on canvas. 1920. Signed and dated, lower left. Good condition; some paint flaking upper and lower right. Plasse, a painter/printmaker, studied in Paris with Ferdinand-Anne Piestre Cormon, Paul Thomas, and Marcel Andre Baschet. He became one of the "Artistes Français", in 1907 exhibiting at the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Tuilleries, where he received several awards.
