Description
A large and impressive Egyptian faience ushabti, Late Period, Dynasty 30, c. 380 – 343 BC, mummiform on integral base, wearing striated wig with false beard, arms folded at chest, hands holding a pick and hoe, bag over left shoulder and vertical plinth down back. The lower portion of the front of the body with 7 registers of well molded hieroglyphic text. An extremely well-preserved example with glossy deep green glaze and incredible style and detail. H: 6 3/4 in (17.1cm). With custom metal stand. Ex Oxford, UK private collection.
