Description
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A beautiful piriform vessel comprised of free-blown, pale blue-green glass, its form presenting a graceful pear shaped body, cylindrical neck and flattened rim - all on a flat body. The surface is absolutely mesmerizing with luminous iridescence showing marvelous, pink, blue, green, and purple hues. Size: 2.25" W x 4.25" H (5.7 cm x 10.8 cm)

There is a curved line on the body that runs from the base to the neck marking where it once laid in the earth. Expected areas of encrustation and marvelous rainbow iridescence.
