Condition
Both works in very good condition. Oil on board: Artist has applied a reddish ground which shows through the top layers of paint and plays an important role in this composition. Cracks and scratches in the pigment appear to be intentional and original to the work, allowing the reddish ground to peer through. Pigment and support are stable. No losses are evident. Painting does not fluoresce under blacklight. Tempera in glue on board: Artist has written a description of his painting process with signature and date, on verso. Stable condition. Small amount of rubbing where the frame meets the surface of the painting.
