Description

Very nice small, campaign style portable 19th century (~1815) writing desk most likely from York, England. Doubles as a small end table when closed- open to reveal leather covered writing area and 2 small drawers for ink and quills. Flush mounted Brass side handles and hardware adorn this mahogany wood secretary. Writing area lifts for extra storage of paper and important documents. This portable piece was a must for any military attache' or business man of the 19th century. Somewhat unusual to find one with it's original stand. Classic Empire lines.
