NIPPON PORCELAIN TEXAS ROSE VASE, baluster form with fluted sides, raised flared foot and flared rim, ornately molded handles and hand-painted polychrome "Texas Rose" design on sides with gilding. Green maple leaf and "Hand / Painted" mark on base. Late 19th/early 20th century. 10 1/8" H.
Undamaged with wear to gilding on rim, handles, and raised gilt beading.
Literature: Design similar to the "Texas Rose Pattern" as in Van Patten - ABC's of Collecting Nippon Porcelain, p. 214.
