Description
NIPPON PORCELAIN TEXAS ROSE VASE, having hand-painted polychrome "Texas Rose" design on sides, low squat form with a wide bas and high fluted neck. Blue maple leaf and "Hand / Painted" mark on base. Late 19th/early 20th century. 5 3/4" H.
Undamaged with wear to gilding on rim and raised gilt design and light wear to painted surface in two small areas.
Literature: Design similar to the "Texas Rose Pattern" as in Van Patten - ABC's of Collecting Nippon Porcelain, p. 214.
Provenance: A portion of the Dick and Mary Ellen Bittner 20 year collection.
