Tim Liess (1965-2009 American, Indiana, Chicago) watercolor on paper entitled "Captured Essence," a view of the Indiana Dunes in Spring." Liess is a graduate of the American Academy of Art in Chicago and works in dry brush watercolor technique, sometimes using as many as 30 layers of paint on heavy paper to achieve the effect he wants although no evidence of artist or paint are to be seen. Signed and dated 1991 lower right and signed and titled with a metal plaque under the glass. Sight size of each is 5 x 11 7/8 inches and with wood frames and multiple mats the total size is 16 1/8 by 23 1/2 inches. Excellent original condition.
