DESCRIPTION: George A. Bradshaw (Massachusetts/New Jersey, 1880-1968). Two etchings on paper. Includes: 1) Etching signed lower right in pencil. Entitled "Misty Morning, Gloucester". Black frame with glass and mat. Depicts a harbor scene. 9-3/4" x 6-3/4". Overall with frame and mat 17-1/2" x 14". 2) Etching signed lower right. Entitled "Gull Hill Provincetown". Wooden frame with glass and mat. 8-1/8" x 6-3/4". Overall with frame and mat 15-3/4" x 13-3/4". Bradshaw studied at the Trenton School of Industrial Arts and later taught there for many years. He was a member of the Brooklyn Society of Etchers, the Chicago Society of Etchers, and the North Shore Artists Association. PROVENANCE: From the collection of Dr. Beate A. Schiwek (1943-2016), Chambersburg, PA. Dr. Schiwek was the Dean and Chief Academic Officer at Felician College in Lodi, NJ, Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA and Rosemont College in Rosemont, PA. While at Felician, she became the first dean of a private college to serve as National President of the Council of Colleges at Arts & Sciences. MEASUREMENTS: See Description. CONDITION: Minor toning and undulation. Minor wear to frames.
