Description
An oil on canvas portrait of Mr. George Handal Hollbrook of Medway, Massachusetts. George Handal Hollbrook's father, Major George Holbrook founded the Holbrook Bell Foundry in 1797 after mentoring under Paul Revere. George Handal Hollbrook, born in 1798 took over the business in 1820 and carried on until 1871.
Painted by Isaac A. Wetherbee (1819 - 1904) in 1839, signed and identified verso on the canvas.
