Signed and personalized by the Maharaja Karni Singh also known as Dr Karni Singh, who. was from 1950 the last Maharaja of Bikaner State to hold the title of Maharaja of Bikaner, officially, till 1971, when the privy purse and all the royal titles were abolished by the Republic of India. He was also a politician, serving as a member of the Lok Sabha for twenty-five years, from 1952 to 1977, and an international clay pigeon and skeet champion. Soft bound with gilt title and the logo of the Bikaner state on the top cover, published by Editions de luxe, Paris. Measures 12.75"x9.75"x1". Weight is 2 pds 9 oz. PROVENANCE: This estate was attached to the US Embassy in India, mid 20th century. A Charleston SC Private Estate.
