Item Details
Description
A late Victorian silver bowl, of circular bulbous form with an embossed band of floral and foliate decoration surrounding twin opposed cartouches, one engraved with a presentation inscription, raised upon a stepped base. Hallmarked London 1893, maker's mark probably Daniel & John Wellby. Height measuring 5 6/8 inches (14.5 cm), weight 18.1 ozt (564.7 grams).
Condition
In fair to good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The cartouche is engraved 'Lewisham Rifle Club'. Significant dent to the fluted lower body. The interior is heavily tarnished, would benefit from a clean and polish. Hallmarks rubbed but still legible.
