Description

Plate 1 to Selby's Illustrations of British Ornithology, Golden Eagle, Female; a hand colored engraving heightened in gum Arabic. Prideaux John Selby was a British artist who once took a lesson from Audubon and illustrated his own undertaking of two volumes of Illustrations of Ornithology. Titled above the image and numbered PLATE 1.

Sheet measures 23.25 x 18.25 in a 28.5 x 23.5 inch frame.

Condition

Very good condition as shown outside the frame and mat. The piece is not laid down, clean, no major stain or repair, light mat burn, good color.
