Description
Very well forged iron tsuba of mokkõ form with rough surface (arashi-ji) decorated with a Shakudo grasshopper with gilded wings (nunome-zogan) and antennas, and a pampas grass, also inlaid in Shakudo and gold. On the revers: rocks inlaid in shakud? and gold, flowing waters are carved in low relief (kebori). Unsigned. Provenance: Alan Hartman.
