Description

Two 9ct gold gem-set brooches. The first, a bar brooch designed as an oval-shape garnet collet with openwork surround and split pearl accents, the second, of openwork design set throughout with split pearl floral clusters and highlights suspending a split pearl quatrefoil drop. Hallmarks for Chester and London. Lengths 4.4 and 6.4cms. Weight 7.4gms.

Condition

Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.

Bar brooch clasp and pin with signs of repair soft solder visible, discolouration.

Garnet is in good condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.

Split pearls are well matched, cream colour, with pinkish-green hues, in good condition with minor abrasions.

Stamped 375.
