Description
Two gem-set brooches. The first designed as an early 20th century 15ct gold bar of music with split pearl highlights and the notes reading 'dearest', the second designed as a mid 20th century 9ct gold circular-shape amethyst within a scrolling foliate engraved surround. Lengths 2.6 and 3.9cms. One with hallmarks for Birmingham, 1965. Total weight 9.6gms.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. Split pearls possible replacement stones. Split pearls with white body colour and chalky lustre. Amethyst medium purple, fair saturation, with good clarity and typical inclusions. Stones in good condition with minor abrasions. One stamped 9ct, one stamped 15ct.
