Hill records the general orders and special orders of the Army of Northern Virginia during the military campaigns from Chancellorsville to the Siege of Petersburg.Hill's "Light Division" was the most famous in the Confederate Army and fought during the Peninsular Campaign, Second Manassas, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, The wilderness, Cold Harbor and Petersburg. ThisOrders Book was kept by his brother Edward Baptist Hill, who served as his aide and chief Commissary Officer from 1862 until hill was killed in action April 1865. This Bound Portfolio retains its original cover and part of the binding, Some page are water damaged but most are clearly legible. different handwritings are noted throughout.
