Description
Two late Victorian gold gem-set mourning rings. The first designed as an 18ct gold old-cut diamond atop a square-shape black enamel panel with circular-shape paste and black enamel line shoulders, the second designed as a rose-cut diamond with openwork gallery and black enamel foliate shoulders. One with hallmarks for Chester, 1883. Total weight 5.3gms.
Condition
  • Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear.
  • Diamonds fairly well matched.
  • Diamonds fairly bright.

  • Estimated total diamond weight under 0.10ct.

  • Individual size and setting of diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment.

  • Diamonds with small inclusions.
  • Paste are in good to fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges.

  • Black enamel is in fair condition with some abrasion and nibbles, one may require re-enameling.
