19th century Edo period Japanese kashira (metal pommel at the end of the hilt of a sword) with multimetal inlays depicting a wild boar running by clumps of bamboo grass. Perfectly captured moment, wonderfully made piece with crisp metalwork and gilding, silver inlaid bamboo leaves, in great condition. Length 1 5/16 inches.
