Description
Bil Baird (American, 1904-19870) vintage hand-carved and painted matador puppet, in traditional costume; Baird,a prominent puppeteer in the 1950s-60s, performed the famous "The Lonely Goatherd" sequence in the film "The Sound of Music," and his creations were found in numerous World's Fairs and Macy's Thanksgiving Day parades. 19" H. Some paint wear, cracks to top of wood head, color fading to cloth, rod partially and strings fully cut away.
