This wonderful 1922 edition of the Divine Comedy contains 101 beautiful illustrations by artists for the late 19th and early 20th century. This is the second printing, by Giuseppe Vandelli (Firenze) 1922, of the Vittorio Almari edited, profusely illustrated publication of Dante Alighieri’s "La Divina Commedia", 263 numbered text pages.

The cover (10" x 12.25"), textured brown cloth with black lettering to the front and spine, is in poor condition, with a number of scuffs and lighter stains, and with some tears at the hinges, as well as a loose connection (connected only at the front hinge) to the spine. It is, however, complete and with no loose boards.

The interior is good overall, with sunning to most borders, and with occasional shallow edge wear, including one page that is missing about an inch (by somewhat less) to its bottom edge. Almost all pages are without tears. All the lettering is in good condition - clearly legible and without notable stains or fade.

All 101 illustrations, by contemporary Italian artists, are present, attached, complete, and with no visible fade. The page-to-page binding is secure, with no loose or missing pages. The accompanying illustrations are accurate reflections of the book conditions.
