Item Details

Description

In the 1920-30s the Crane Steel & Valve company used the swastika as a symbol on many of their products. This handle was for turning a gas valve. At that time the swastika represented good fortune; shortly thereafter it became a symbol of hate and was no longer used by Crane. This example is cast iron and in excellent condition; an interesting piece of American industrial art.
