All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the famille rose design color. Famille rose hand painting depicted vividly hand painted in enamel design, famille rose translates to the pink family, on a colored ground decoration. Each bulging sides enclosing colorful falangcai, famille rose on a colored ground decoration, of Bajixiang. The main body adorned with several magpie que bird hanging and relaxes on the sturdy branch among flowers bloom called flowers of the four seasons interspersed with fresh foliage in vivid tones color. The upper neck rim decorated with repeating taotie masks with auspicious dense blue ornament. The magpie is universally admired for its intelligence and guile but it can be a nuisance to farmers. In China it has a positive connotation, a harbinger of joy and as such a magpie is used in paintings to wish someone joy as Xi means glad, joy, happiness. If the character is shown upside down, like Fu, good fortune, it means happiness is arriving. Flowers of the Four Seasons: In the Chinese culture, specific flowers represent the seasons. winter: Plum Blossom, Spring: Peony, Summer: Lotus, Fall: Chrysanthemum. The health and condition of the flower also conveys meaning in the Chinese culture. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous craftsman.
