Magna Graecia, South Italic Colonies, Apulian, ca. 340 to 325 BCE. A nice wheel-thrown pottery mug with a squat, tiered foot, an apple-shaped body with a shallow shoulder groove, a corseted neck with a flared rim, and an applied ring handle. The entire vessel - save for the interior cavity and area beneath the foot - is covered in lustrous jet-black glaze that has developed enticing silvery iridescence. Size: 2.9" W x 4.25" H (7.4 cm x 10.8 cm).
