Declaration Signer Benjamin Harrison Superb DS

Document signed "Benj Harrison" as Virginia Governor and co-signed by "Thos Meriwether". The document has been inlaid to a larger sheet; it is in very fine condition with dark ink. in 1776, Harrison was one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

This document certifies "That Serjeant [sic] John Lambert is intitled [sic] to the proportion of Land allowed a Serjeant of the State Line, inlisted [sic] for the war, who has served three years & is discharged by the order of Government". In order to entice soldiers to enlist for the Revolutionary War, the cash-poor government offered soldiers land in exchange for their services. In 1783, after the war ended, soldiers like John Lambert redeemed their land.

This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
