Description

This cotton and wool sampler tied quilt is hand pieced, with hand embroidered accents, signatures, and the date "1912." Some of the names include "Klepinger," "Heckman," Rohn," and "Frankenfield," and many of the blocks contain the location, "Nazareth, PA."It measures 78" X 78 and is in excellent condition, with the occasional tiny moth nibble and no wear. The back is a striped cotton flannel fabric, and the batting is medium-to-thick. RARELY do you find 100+ year old sampler quilts in rich WOOL fabrics, especially with so many signatures!
