Jack Kerouac's Personally Owned Swedish Translation of On the Road, from his Estate
A Swedish translation of one of Jack Kerouac's classic texts, On the Road, once in the personal library of the famous Beatnik himself. The volume is stamped on the title page with the Jack Kerouac Estate stamp and the raised blind seal from Executor of the Estate, John Sampas.
Jack Kerouac (1922-1969), the famous American writer who brought us On The Road (1957), enjoys immense popularity in Europe. Europeans view Kerouac as a symbol of the best characteristics of the American spirit: curiosity, honesty, independence, and persistence.
The lot is comprised of: Jack Kerouac, Pa° drift (Stockholm: Rabén & Sjögren, ca. 1965). Translated from English into Swedish by Jan Nystro¨m and Lars Wilson. Expected wear to the covers including lightly sunned spine. A few uncut front pages have been abraded at top, with scattered tears. Else very good. This Swedish language edition runs 281pp. 8vo.
