Jack Kerouac's Personally Owned Swedish Translation of The Subterraneans, Retrieved from his Last Home
A Swedish translation of one of Jack Kerouac's classic texts, The Subterraneans, once in the personal library of the famous Beatnik himself. The volume is stamped on the front fly leaf with the Jack Kerouac Estate stamp and the raised blind seal from Executor of the Estate, John Sampas.
Jack Kerouac (1922-1969), the famous American writer who brought us On The Road (1957), enjoys immense popularity in Europe. Europeans view Kerouac as a symbol of the best characteristics of the American spirit: curiosity, honesty, independence, and persistence.
The lot is comprised of: Jack Kerouac, De Underjordiska (Stockholm: Rabén & Sjögren, 1960). Translated from the English into Swedish by Lars Wilson. Light sunning and a few chipped edges to the original dust jacket, else clean and crisp. This Swedish language edition runs 173pp. 8vo.
