-NO RESERVE-Pond made several thousand of these .32 rimfire revolvers during the early 1860s before losing a lawsuit to Smith and Wesson for infringing on the Rollin White patent for bored-through cylinders. Production then ceased and the remaining inventory got Smith and Wesson markings added to them and the sale proceeds went to S&W.

This has a six-inch barrel with the Pond markings on the top flat and the Smith and Wesson markings added to the flat next to it. The markings and patent dates are visible. The Pond address has a ding near the beginning. The barrel and cylinder show gray. The frame shows slightly brown at the back. The hammer shows some color. The metal has some shallow pitting and freckling. The wood grips are tight.

It is too bad the patent suit messed up the production. These are nice looking pistols and this one would look great in an officer's display.
