1848-49 Black History Manuscript Document Receipt, for Payment of Services in the Renting Land & Hiring Slaves, Choice Very Fine.
This original Document measuring about 2.5" x 7.5" is made to "Seth Pitman and S. Lawson Peters [as agent] for renting land & hiring Slaves" dated for 1848 and 1849. This being the official receipt, written in brown ink on very clean period light blue wove paper, being also noted on the reverse as "No. 53 - 1.33." This item said by the prior owner to have been with a group of documents from Lincoln County, KY.
