Description
A nice Yortan black-ware vessel from Anatolia, Early Bronze Age II, c. 2700 - 2400 BC, the ovoid body with narrow flattened base, the flared mouth angled sharply for pouring with a single loop handle. Around the body are four shallow rounded dimples. H: 6 1/4 in (13.3 cm). Much of the original black burnished surface remains. A nice example! Ex collection of Karl Jakob Muller, Germany, acquired 1950-1977.
