Description
Gignoux, Regis (French/American, Hudson River School, 1816-1882), Passaic Falls (New Jersey), watercolor on paper mounted to thin card, c.1860s, signed lower right, 10 x 14.5 inches in a plain wood frame. Title attributed from Gignoux's own notebook where he recorded all of his works and sales -- this one with his inventory number 171 on the reverse. Gignoux is primarily known for his winter scenes and paintings of Niagara Falls. Provenance: From the estate of Arthur B. de Saint Maurice, the great-grandson of Regis Gignoux.
Condition
Dirt and light soiling along top edge, small ovular stain just above the center, general layer of surface dirt. Merchandise will be packed and transported by the purchaser at their own risk and expense.
